The Gold Coast is known for its beaches and beautiful scenery, but there’s a lot more to explore! In this article, you will find the best way to spend 1 day in the Gold Coast. For this trip you will need a car to get around, but guess what! The car and petrol will be the only cost for the day as all of these places are free to access.
1. Burleigh Head National Park
Start your day in Burleigh head National Park before it is getting too hot. This is a great place to go hiking and see some amazing views of the city. The trails are well-maintained, so you can take a leisurely stroll or a more challenging run. There’s also a beautiful lookout point where you can watch the sunset over the ocean. The Burleigh Head Rainforest Circuit is a 2.3km hike which will take around 1 hour to complete. You can park your car at the end of Goodwin Terrace and leave your car here when you go to Tallebudgera Beach.
2. Tallebudgera Beach
If you want something more low-key, this beach is just a around the corner from Burleigh Head National Park and offers some great swimming spots with calm waters. This white-sand beach has crystal clear and aqua-colored water which makes it one of the most beautiful beaches in the Gold Coast.
3. Currumbin Rock Pools
Currumbin rock pools offers a beautiful set of cascading waterfalls that cascade into pools at their base (hence “rock pools”). This a great spot for swimming and exploring the pools full. There are many walking trails throughout this area, so if you want some exercise while enjoying nature, this is definitely a spot worth checking out! There are trails leading up to the top of Currumbin Hill where you can get even more stunning views of the city below!
4. Currumbin Beach
End your day with a trip down to one of Queensland’s most popular beaches for surfing and sunbathing. The beach itself is stunning: clean white sand and clear blue water make this one of the best surfing spots in Australia. The best way to spend time at Currumbin Beach is by starting with a walk along the boardwalk. You’ll see beautiful scenery and get some exercise before you even get into the water! When you’re ready to hit the waves, head down to the beach and rent your own surfboard from one of the many shops around town. If you don’t think you’re ready for this yet, no worries—there are plenty of other fun things to do on your visit.
Enjoy your day at the Gold Coast and don’t forget to put sunscreen on! Let me know if you agree that these 4 spots are the best way to spend 1 day in the Gold Coast!
